The Greece–Vietnam business council has been unveiled at its first meeting recently held in Athens, the capital city of Greece.

At the event, Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Panayiotis Mihalos described its establishment as an impetus to drive bilateral economic connections, expressing hope that both sides will work more closely for the sake of their prosperity.

On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of the Intralot Group Constantinos Antonopoulos was elected as Chairman of the council’s Board of Directors.

Last year, two-way trade between Vietnam and Greece hit some 210 million USD, tripling the sum recorded three years ago. Of the figure, over 186 million USD was from Vietnam’s exports.

Joint links in shipbuilding and other areas look positive as Greece appointed Vietnam to build eight ships worth some 240 million USD.-VNA
