Chairman of the People’s Committee of central Ha Tinh province Vo Kim Cu has asked the Lao Government, ministries and branches to help the province in expanding investment in Laos.

Cu, who is on a working visit to Laos from March 22-25, made the request when he was received by Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavath on March 24.

The Ha Tinh official said 10 businesses from his province are investing in Laos in rubber growing, plaster exploitation and processing, barbed wire production and forestry processing.

The province also wants to boost cooperation with neighbouring Khammouane and Borikhamsay provinces. Ha Tinh has helped build schools in the two Lao provinces.

For his part, Deputy PM Somsavat Lengsavath highlighted the cooperation and assistance of Ha Tinh for Lao localities, especially in education and training.

He said he will assign authorities of Khammouane and Borikhamsay provinces and relevant sectors to study Ha Tinh’s proposals to further beef up effective cooperation.-VNA
