Both Vietnamese and Ukrainian trade promotion agencies should enhance cooperation to increase trade exchange and investment between the two countries, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh has said.

At the Vietnam-Ukraine trade exchange in Ho Chi Minh City on October 2, Khanh said the two countries have recorded outstanding results in economic and trade fields apart from fine development in politics and diplomacy.

Representative of the Vietnam-Ukraine Inter-Governmental Committee Vasy Tushko said Vietnam and Ukraine should consolidate traditional relations and further cement their economic, trade and investment relations.

Both countries’ businesses should be more active in trade exchange, he said, adding that mutual cooperation and assistance help the two countries gain successes in the international arena.

They will be provided with market information, consultation and assistance in settling their difficulties when joining the Vietnam-Ukraine business council, he added.

The event saw the attendance of Ukrainian businesses operating in textile and garments, chemicals, shipbuilding, aviation, equipment for oil and gas sector, education and training.

At present, Vietnam exports seafood, farm, handicraft and timber products, garment and textiles, footwear to Ukraine and imports steel products, machinery, chemicals and fertiliser from the country./.
