Ho Chi Minh City wants more businesses from the Czech Republic to come to the city to seek investment opportunities, a municipal official has said.

At a May 14 reception for visiting Czech Minister ofIndustry and Trade Jan Mladek, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’sCommittee Nguyen Thi Hong said the two countries should continue toexpand bilateral cooperation based on the traditional ties.

Thecity now has six Czech-invested projects with a total investment ofmore than 6 million USD, Hong noted, which she said does not reflectsufficiently the potential and suggested the two sides foster investmentpromotion activities and the exchange of information related toinvestment, tourism and culture.

Mladek in turn said the CzechRepublic always attaches importance to its collaboration with Vietnam,adding the two countries possess much cooperation potential in thespheres of investment, trade and infrastructure.

He underlinedthe attractive and convenient investment climate of HCM City and othersouthern localities, revealing that his country is willing to invest inthe city in a range of fields, including energy, mining, agriculture,health, and finance and banking.

In the coming time, the twosides need to forward the information exchanges and activities to learnabout investment environment between their businesses, the guestsuggested.-VNA

Construction of AEON Hai Duong Shopping Centre kicked off

With a total investment of around 1.18 trillion VND (45.6 million USD), the AEON Hai Duong Shopping Centre is designed with a total floor area of approximately 3.6 hectares.
