Transportation authorities in Indonesia have asked 26 national airline operators that have not operated yet to submit application for a new certificate as the old license would not be extended.

According to the Bisnis Indonesia daily, the Transportation Ministry's Air Transportation Director General Herry Bakti S. Gumay said that the operators would not operate by June 25 this year without an air operator certificate (AOC).

According to the rules, the new scheduled airline operators that would commercially operate should use 10 plane units with ownership status on five of them. Meanwhile, new chartered airlines are obliged to operate five planes with ownership status on two of them.
