Indonesia upbeat about digital finance growth in 2023

Jakarta (VNA) – Governor of Bank
Indonesia (BI) Perry Warjiyo has expressed his optimism about Indonesia's
digital finance growth outlook for 2023 despite the global economic stagnation
expected the same year.
During the recent coordination meeting of the
Regional Digitization Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD), he forecast that by
2023, the total transaction value in the national e-commerce ecosystem would
reach 572 trillion rupiah (36.5 billion USD) while digital banking transactions
would reach 67.6 trillion rupiah and electronic cash transaction 508 trillion
rupiah.
He said
the total number of QR Code Indonesia Standard (QRIS) users in the country reached
30 million in November 2022 and the number is expected to increase to 45
million by 2023.
Meanwhile,
at least 283 regional authorities have been digitized, an increase of 42% year
on year, he informed.

Hartarto said 65% of regional authorities will be digitised by 2023./.
