Cooperation with Vietnam is indispensable to the development of Osaka’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), a Japanese economic official has stated.

Kyoko Hirose, head of the Industry Development Agency in Osaka prefecture, made the affirmation while working with the Ha Nam provincial People’s Committee on September 3.

Kyoko Hirose is leading a business delegation from Osaka to Vietnam. She said after visiting several Japanese enterprises in Dong Van 1 and Dong Van 2 industrial parks in Ha Nam that her visit aims to link both countries’ enterprises together.

She also spoke highly of the provincial leaders’ effective direction that has improved the investment climate in the locality, saying that such resulted in 40 Japanese enterprises starting up operations in the province.
Osaka is now the hub of the Kansai economic zone, where powerhouses like Sharp, Sanyo, Kintesu and Matsushita are operating.

Recently, Ha Nam has become appealing to Japanese SMEs.
