Kon Tum, Thai provinces to cooperate in investment

A conference on cooperation in investment, trade and tourism promotion between the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum and Thailand’s four northeast provinces was held in Kon Tum city on May 24.

The event drew the participation ofrepresentatives and businesspeople from Kon Tum province, Thailand’sUbon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Yasothon and Amnat charoen provinces.

Addressing the conference, representatives from the provinces briefedparticipants on their socio-economic development, introduced theirpotential and preferential policies, and investment opportunities.

They reviewed external affairs activities and a report of theestablishment of official cooperation relations between Kon Tum provinceand Ubon Ratchathani province.

The two provincesalso devised a plan to create conditions for Ubon Ratchathani provinceand the Kon Tum branch of Da Nang University to continueexchanging students and work on other areas of educational cooperation.

They will continue creating favourable conditions for the two provinces’ tourism enterprises to run pilot businesses.

The conference created opportunities for enterprises of Kon Tumprovince and the four provinces of Thailand to learn aboutinvestment cooperation opportunities, markets and investmentenvironments, as well as favourable policies of each locality.

Located on the T-junction between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, and alink in the East-West economic corridor, Kon Tum province has hugepotential and advantages in cooperation and development, with three maineconomic development zones of Bo Y international border gate economiczone, Mang Den economic zone and Kon Tum city.-VNA

Vietnam, Laos strengthen energy cooperation
