Hanoi (VNA) – Nearly 700 Vietnamesecitizens were flown back to Vietnam from the Republic ofKorea (RoK) and Japan on flights of the national flagcarrier Vietnam Airlines on December 20 and 21.
The flights were arranged by relevant agencies of Vietnamand the host countries, with passengers being children under 18, pregnantwomen, elderly people, and workers with expired contracts and students who havecompleted their studies, and other with disadvantaged circumstances.
To ensure health for the citizens and preventthe spread of COVID-19, strict security, safety and epidemiological measures were appliedduring the flights.
After landing at Tan Son Nhat international airport in Ho Chi Minh City, all passengersand crew members on the flights had their health checked and sent to quarantinein line with regulations.
The repatriation of Vietnamesecitizens in disadvantaged circumstances abroad will continue to be conducted inline with citizens’ wishes, the development of the COVID-19 pandemic andquarantine capacity in the country./.
