- There has not been any information on casualties related toVietnamese people in strong earthquakes and aftershocks that hit Taiwan (China)on April 3, according to the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed the office toquickly contact local authorities and representatives of the Vietnamesecommunity in Taiwan to get information and promptly respond to thesituation. Vietnam confers Friendship Order on Austria–Vietnam Society, Honorary President

Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang said the Friendship Order symbolises the Vietnamese State's recognition of Jankowitsch's more than six decades of unwavering dedication to fostering bilateral relations. Vietnamese naval vessel begins friendship visit to China
