Hanoi (VNA) – The following is a list of selected news summaries reported last night by the Vietnam News Agency.

- National Data Centre No.1 and the national database system based at this centre, launched on August 18, hold special strategic significance as they contribute to national digital transformation and the development of digital economy, society, workforce, and citizenship, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

After nearly two years of implementation, the Ministry of Public Security completed building National Data Centre No.1 at the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi. Together with the national database system here, the centre, featuring comprehensive and modern equipment, is viewed as the "heart" of digital transformation and the "brain" of the era of the nation's prosperous development. - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Khac Dinh hosted a reception in Hanoi on August 18 for Marcio Honaiser, Chairman of the Brazil – Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Dinh thanked Brazil for its consistent support for Vietnam during the struggle for national liberation and independence in the past, and expressed his belief that the visit will further strengthen the two countries’ strategic partnership. Read full story

- Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening and developing the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Bulgaria, especially through the Party-to-Party channel, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet affirmed at her recent working session with Atanas Zafirov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria.

Zafirov noted that the BSP, formerly the Bulgarian Communist Party, has a traditional friendship with the Communist Party of Vietnam. He expressed his wish to promote Party-to-Party cooperation with the Southeast Asian nation, enhance high-level political dialogue, and exchange theories and policy-making experience. - The reading-culture space of Hanoi’s iconic Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature Complex) was inaugurated at nearby Van Lake on August 18 to mark the 80th anniversary of the country’s August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

- The agriculture and environment exhibition will be one of the sector’s key events in 2025 to mark the 80th National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025) and the 80th founding anniversary of the agriculture and environment sector (November 14), heard a press conference in Hanoi on August 18.

Accordingly, the exhibition will take place from August 28 to September 5 at the Vietnam Exposition Centre in Hanoi's Dong Anh commune under the theme “80 years of agricultural and environmental development for national prosperity and sustainable future”. Read full story
