- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam on August 14 held phone talks with President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Hun Sen to discuss measures to strengthen relations between the two Parties and countries, at the request of the Cambodian side.
General Secretary Lam and CPP President Hun Sen informed each other about the situation of each Party and country; exchanged views on regional and international developments, relations between the two Parties and countries, and issues of mutual concern. They also reviewed and assessed the results of bilateral cooperation, and agreed on key directions to further deepen the relationship. Read full story
- The Netherlands has committed to promoting the application of its Sand Motor technology and other advanced initiatives in Vietnam to meet economic development needs while protecting natural resources and ensuring sustainable, nature-based growth, Dutch Ambassador to Vietnam Kees van Baar told Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at their meeting in Hanoi on August 14.
At the reception, the deputy PM underlined the long-term strategic partnership between the two countries in climate change response and water resources management, and expressed his appreciation for the Netherlands’ long-standing cooperation with Vietnam in related projects, especially in the Mekong Delta. - Vietnam’s policy is to further facilitate the entry, exit, and residence of foreigners in the country, thereby contributing to socio-economic development, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang stated at the ministry’s regular press conference in Hanoi on August 14.
She noted that the Government has recently issued Resolution No. 229 on visa exemption for citizens of 12 countries under a tourism stimulus programme, effective from August 15, 2025 until August 14, 2028. Read full story

- The Multi-Trend Expo & Global Business People’s HUB (Mega Us Expo) 2025, a multi-sector exhibition between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on August 14, gathering over 200 units from 15 major industrial cities across the RoK and startups in Vietnam.
