Hanoi (VNA) - The agriculture and environment exhibition will be one of the sector’s key events in 2025 to mark the 80th National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025) and the 80th founding anniversary of the agriculture and environment sector (November 14), heard a press conference in Hanoi on August 18.

Accordingly, the exhibition will take place from August 28 to September 5 at the Vietnam Exposition Centre in Hanoi's Dong Anh commune under the theme “80 years of agricultural and environmental development for national prosperity and sustainable future”.

It will feature four main sections, highlighting the sector’s formation and development (1945–1986); renewal and integration (1986–2025); environmental protection, resources, and forestry; and green future vision, and international exchange.

At the same venue and time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will also host an exhibition of handicrafts and OCOP products themed “the essence of Vietnamese handicrafts in the digital age and green economy,” recreating a traditional rural market with stalls offering signature OCOP culinary products for visitors to taste on-site. It will also feature a dedicated area for livestream programmes to promote and connect OCOP products.

The two events will also be held online from August 28, 2025, to August 28, 2026. The online exhibitions will feature modern design using VR/AR technology and 3D simulation to deliver content in an engaging, interactive, and immersive way.

Addressing the press conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien highlighted the sector’s achievements over the past eight decades, noting that alongside agricultural development, the management of environment, land, and minerals has become increasingly rigorous, ensuring balance across the three pillars of economy, society, and environment.

The legal framework on environmental protection, waste management, and pollution control has also been gradually improved, laying the foundation for sustainable development, he said.

In addition, a range of promotion and trade activities will be organised. The exhibitions will not only honour the remarkable achievements of the agriculture and environment sector over the past 80 years but also promote Vietnam’s dynamic, globally integrated image and its vision for a green and sustainable future./.
