- The new generation of Vietnamese farmers - those who embody knowledge, creativity, digital capability, autonomy, resilience, pioneering spirit, aspiration and dedication, will serve as a key force in building a prosperous agricultural sector, elevating Vietnamese agricultural products on the global map, and fostering a more civilised and modern rural ecosystem.

- General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defence, held a meeting with visiting Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu in Hanoi on December 10.
The Vietnamese general highlighted the significance of Shoigu’s December 8-10 trip to Vietnam, saying that it contributes to concretising major directions of the Vietnam–Russia comprehensive strategic partnership in the new phase of cooperation, as agreed by the two leaders in May 2025. - Ship 09 of Brigade 171 and a working delegation from the Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) are taking part in the second ASEAN–US Maritime Exercise (AUMX-2), which opened on December 10 in Indonesia.
In his opening remarks, Lieut. Gen. Tri Budi Utomo, Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Defence, said AUMX-2 was not merely a series of naval activities but also an opportunity for regional navies to build trust and mutual understanding, share knowledge, and enhance their ability to operate together. - New direct flights from New Delhi are paving the way for Phu Quoc to be the leading destination for Indian travellers.
Phu Quoc International Airport welcomed over 180 Indian travellers on a new direct flight from New Delhi on December 10. This marked the start of a month-long flight series that will link the two destinations and bring a fresh wave of visitors to Vietnam’s pristine island. Travellers from India can now access experiences found nowhere else, from nightly fireworks and the world’s longest three wire cable car to iconic landmarks in southern Phu Quoc. Read full story
- The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) has reported that total auto sales of its members in the first 11 months of 2025 hit 328,669 vehicles, up 6.5% year-on-year.
Notably, while the sales of domestically assembled vehicles fell 3%, and of imported completely built-unit (CBU) cars rose 17%, reflecting a shift in market preferences and supply. Read full story
