- Party General Secretary To Lam on January 22 offered incense in tribute to late Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at his residence in Hanoi on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) and the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 –2025).

At the meeting, the PM briefed Schwab on Vietnam’s recently-issued resolution on breakthroughs in scientific and technological development, innovation, and national digital transformation. The resolution identifies science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers for rapidly developing modern productive forces, improving production relations, and renewing national governance methods to promote socio-economic development. - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man received visiting First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate Ouch Borith in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on January 22.

- Vietnam welcomes the Seoul Court of Appeals upheld the ruling requiring the government of the Republic of Korea (RoK) to compensate more than 30 million KRW (approximately 20,000 USD) to Nguyen Thi Thanh, who lost her family in the 1968 massacre in the central province of Quang Nam in 1968.

In response to reporters' queries regarding Vietnam’s stance on the court's decision, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said on January 22 that it reflects historical truth and contributes to realising the spirit of 'putting the past behind and looking toward the future.'/. NA Standing Committee’s 51st session spotlights reformed lawmaking approach

After more than a year of implementing the 2024 Land Law and guidance documents, the new policies have yielded initial positive results, helping unlock land resources for socio-economic development. However, as new development requirements are arising in the new period, it is necessary to issue an NA resolution to continue institutionalising the Party's viewpoints and directions while tackling certain challenges.

Condolences extended to DPRK over former leader's passing

State President Luong Cuong on November 5 sent a message of condolences to General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un over the passing of comrade Kim Yong Nam, former Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK.
