- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 28 attended the inauguration ceremony of new Phong Chau bridge on National Highway 32C in the northern province of Phu Tho.

- Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin visited the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Centre in Hanoi on September 28 evening as part his two-day official visit to Vietnam.

On behalf of leaders of the Ministry of National Defence, Sen. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien, Chairman of the Vietnamese Subcommittee and Co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Coordination Committee on the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Centre, expressed his pleasure at welcoming Chairman Volodin and a high-ranking delegation of the Russian Federation to visit the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Centre, emphasising that the visit demonstrates the special interest of the State Duma in the activities of the centre. - Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly Vyacheslav Volodin’s official visit to Vietnam on September 28–29 at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will contribute to deepening the two countries' Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the robust ties between the two parliaments in particular.

This marks his third visit to Vietnam by Volodin as Duma Chairman, during which he will also co-chair the fourth session of the Vietnam – Russia Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. Read full story

- As Typhoon Bualoi brings heavy rainfall to northern and north-central Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued an official dispatch, requesting provinces and cities from the central city of Da Nang northwards to prepare to respond to the natural disaster.

The directive states that Typhoon Bualoi, the 10th storm entering the East Sea this year, has strengthened with wind speeds reaching 184 km per hour. Read full story

- Eleven fishermen from Ho Chi Minh City aboard two vessels seeking shelter from Typhoon Bualoi faced a dangerous ordeal off the coast of Cua Viet in central Quang Tri province on early September 28. One vessel sank, while the other was disabled and battered by heavy waves.

As of the latest updates, eight crew members have been rescued, while three remain missing amid ongoing search and rescue efforts./. Read full story

NA Chairman attends rehearsal for fourth Dien Hong awards

More than 10 months after the competition’s launch, the organising board received 3,508 entries from 125 media outlets nationwide. After initial screening, 659 works proceeded to preliminary judging, from which a preliminary jury selected 91 entries for the final round. The final jury ultimately selected 64 works for awards.

PM directs tasks to boost economic growth

To fully realise the 2025 socio-economic development plan, while creating momentum for 2026, PM Pham Minh Chinh urged ministers, heads of ministry-level agencies, and chairpersons of People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to strictly follow resolutions of the Party, the National Assembly and the Government, along with the Prime Minister’s directives.
