- Party General Secretary To Lam chaired a working session with standing members of subcommittees for the 14th Party Congress on September 25 to give opinions on finalising the draft documents to be submitted to the congress.
The Party chief stressed that documents of the 14th National Party Congress, with the two pillars - the political report and the action programme for the 2026–2031 tenure, must serve as a strong pledge by the Party to the people for a new stage of development, which ensures stability for breakthroughs, pursuing modern, inclusive, and sustainable growth, safeguarding comprehensive security, and expanding development space amid strategic competition and global standard transitions. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception in Hanoi on September 25 for Lin Wu, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Shandong Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, who is on a working trip to Vietnam.
Welcoming Lin on his first trip to Vietnam in his capacity as Party Secretary of Shandong, PM Chinh said that this is the second consecutive year the Chinese province has sent a high-ranking delegation to Vietnam, reflecting Shandong’s friendship and its special regard for the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between China and Vietnam and with Vietnamese localities in particular. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, at a meeting with Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Daren Tang in Hanoi on September 25, urged the organisation to help Vietnam boost investment efficiency in science and technology, commercialise R&D outcomes, and develop high-tech industrial, service, and urban zones.

- State President Luong Cuong will preside over a ceremony to kick off the signing of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, which will take place on October 25 - 26 in Hanoi.

- President of the National Assembly of People's Power and President of the Council of State of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernández will pay an official visit to Vietnam and co-chair the second session of the Vietnam–Cuba Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee from September 30 to October 5.

- Vietnam stands ready to discuss with the US to further promote equitable and sustainable bilateral trade as well as the legitimate interests of people and businesses of both sides, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang has said.
Hang made the statement at the ministry’s regular press conference on September 25 as she responded to a reporter’s query on Vietnam’s solutions to the recent decision by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to deny comparability findings for 12 Vietnamese fisheries under the US Marine Mammal Protection Act. - More than 17,000 women in Ho Chi Minh City who have two children before turning 35 have received cash aid in line with two resolutions adopted by the municipal People’s Council.
A review showed that 9,100 women are eligible for 3 million VND (113 USD) each under Resolution 40/2024, while another 8,100 qualify for 5 million VND under Resolution 32/2025. Read full story
