- State President Luong Cuong led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend a high-level meeting marking the 80th founding anniversary of the United Nations (UN) in New York on September 22 morning (local time).

Attending the ceremony were 103 heads of state, 46 Prime Ministers, along with high-ranking leaders of UN member states, and leaders of international and regional organisations. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh ordered a review of income eligibility rules for social housing buyers to ensure they align with local conditions, while chairing the first session of the Central Steering Committee on Housing Policy and the Real Estate Market in Hanoi on September 22.

- New Zealand may share its experience with Vietnam in areas such as national governance, digital transformation, and green development; provide more scholarships for Vietnamese students; and promote student exchanges and cooperation between universities of the two nations, said a Vietnamese Party official.

- Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh on September 22 highlighted the need to establish a transparent legal framework with outstanding preferential policies that are predictable and in line with international practices for investors engaging in developing Vietnam’s international financial centre.

At a meeting with leaders of several ministries and sectors on the building of several decrees guiding the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 222/2025/QH15 on the international financial centre in Vietnam, Binh appreciated the ministries and sectors for proactively implementing the Government's action plan, the Politburo's conclusions, and the NA's Resolution related to the centre. - After over a year of operations in Vietnam, China Design Group Co. Ltd. (Huatie) has hailed the country’s business and investment environment as “well beyond initial expectations”, noting that Vietnam’s socio-economic development is just five years behind China, instead of 15 years as earlier estimated.

Speaking to the Vietnam News Agency on the sidelines of the Vietnam–China Tourism and Investment Promotion Forum, Huatie Vice Chairman Fan Dongtao said the firm has been implementing cooperation projects in various localities, primarily in infrastructure investment and construction, covering transport systems, urban facilities, and service complexes. - President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on September 22 requested disaster response agencies to go on full alert and mobilise all forces as Super Typhoon Ragasa threatened the north of the country.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Ragasa, which packed winds of 215 kph and gusts of up to 295 kph, has passed over Babuyan Island, and is heading toward Calayan Island (both in Babuyan Islands)./. Read full story

NA Chairman attends rehearsal for fourth Dien Hong awards

More than 10 months after the competition’s launch, the organising board received 3,508 entries from 125 media outlets nationwide. After initial screening, 659 works proceeded to preliminary judging, from which a preliminary jury selected 91 entries for the final round. The final jury ultimately selected 64 works for awards.

PM directs tasks to boost economic growth

State President outlines key directions for strengthening national defence
