Seoul (VNA) National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue called on Korean enterprises to invest more in Vietnam during his separate receptions for leaders of several businesses on December 13, as part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Receiving Hanwha Energy CEO Jung In-sub, Hue appreciated the group’s effective activities in Vietnam, proposing it expand investments in the fields it has strengths, including helping Vietnam use energy sustainably.

Jung shared that the group plans to start construction of the Hai Lang liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Vietnam in 2026, during which Hanwha commits to transferring technologies to Vietnam.

Hanwha Energy will carry out several projects in Vietnam in the time to come, notably Hai Lang LNG Power Centre with a registered investment of 2.3 billion USD, and a designed capacity of 1,500MW, and Ca Na LNG Power Centre (2.2 billion USD, 1,500MW).

Receiving Daewoo Engineering & Construction (E&C) President and CEO Kim Hyung, the Vietnamese top legislator suggested Daewoo E&C continue expanding investment and helping Vietnam in smart urban operation and management towards sustainable cooperation and development.

He also asked KDB to soon open its branch in Hanoi as agreed in a memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries’ Deputy Prime Ministers two years ago./.
