Nha Trang-Moscow direct air service inaugurated

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on April 5 made the inaugural flight on its direct service linking the central resort city of Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province) to Moscow.

The flighton a Boeing 777 took off from Cam Ranh Airport in the centralprovince of Khanh Hoa at 11:15am with all the seats occupied.

This is Vietnam Airlines’ third direct air route between Vietnam andRussia . Initially there will be one flight a week, but it isexpected to increase to two in October when the peak travel seasonbegins for Russian vacationers.

Nha Trang has longbeen a favourite destination for Russian tourists for its temperateclimate all the year round and beautiful beaches.

Addressing the service inaugural ceremony, Minister of Transport Dinh LaThang urged Vietnam Airlines and relevant agencies to speed up theupgrading of Cam Ranh Airport to serve as an internationalgateway for the region.

Russia has emerged asone of the top 10 largest markets of Vietnam’s tourism. Nearly180,000 Russians visited Vietnam last year, of whom more than 82,000arrived in Khanh Hoa via Cam Ranh airport.-VNA

Vietnam becomes Brazil’s 2nd largest aquatic product supplier

According to the Department of Customs under the Ministry of Finance, Vietnam’s aquatic product exports reached $655 million in February, marking a 44.5% year-on-year increase. This brought the total for the first two months of 2025 to $1.42 billion, up 19% compared to the same period in 2024.

HCM City bank lending growth down in 2025
