Outstanding Vietnamese farmers honoured

Hanoi (VNA) – Sixty-three
individuals were honoured with the title “Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer
2021” at a ceremony held in Hanoi on December 2.
The winners include nine males and nine ethnic minority people.
Addressing the ceremony,
Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union (VNFU) Luong Quoc Doan said in the past two
years, Vietnamese farmers have continued to overcome difficulties caused by the
COVID-19 pandemic and stay united to help each other reduce poverty, contributing
to the development of the homeland and the country as well as join hands to
build a rich and beautiful new-style countryside and civilised urban areas.

Honouring excellent Vietnamese
farmers is to recognise their efforts, ethics and creativity to agricultural
production, new-style rural building and national defence, he said, adding that
it is expected to help spread the model of new-generation farmers in the national industrialisation and modernisation period.
This was the ninth time the
ceremony had been held by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to honour Vietnamese farmers.
At the ceremony, on behalf of
leaders of the Party and the State, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh
Hue presented the certificates of merit to the honoured farmers./.
