Honouring excellent Vietnamese farmers is to recognise their efforts, ethics and creativity to agricultural production, new-style rural building and national defence, he said, adding that it is expected to help spread the model of new-generation farmers in the national industrialisation and modernisation period.

This was the ninth time the ceremony had been held by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to honour Vietnamese farmers.
