Party leader receives Lao military delegation

Sengnouane Sayalat, who is also chief of the General PoliticalDepartment of the Lao People’s Army, briefed his host on the outcome ofthe talks his delegation held with their Vietnamese counterparts, aswell as the achievements of the cooperation and mutual support betweenthe two Defence Ministries over the past years.

Heaffirmed that his ministry will continue to closely coordinate withVietnam ’s Ministry of Defence to effectively implement the signedprotocol and activities in celebrating the current Friendship andSolidarity Year between the two nations.

The Laoofficial congratulated Vietnam on the successes that the country hasachieved during the past years, expressing his gratitude for theeffective and wholehearted support that Vietnam has given to Laosin the past, as well as at present. Laos will do their utmost topreserve and develop the special relations between the two countries, hesaid.

Trong expressed his delight at the finedevelopment of the special relationship and solidarity that Vietnamand Laos have enjoyed, which will be further comprehensively andeffectively enhanced.

He praised the close andeffective coordination that the two sides, especially the DefenceMinistries, have implemented in various practical activities tocelebrate the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year, attractingthe involvement of numerous people.

Trong spokehighly of the visit’s outcome, saying that he hopes the two ministrieswill continue to develop their tradition to successfully perform all thegiven tasks, ensuring the implementation of the signed protocol, aswell as political stability and security, and social order in eachcountry.

He also asked the two ministries to boostdelegation exchanges, sharing information and experience, as well ashelping each other to train personnel.

On theoccasion, Trong sent his regards to Lao Party leader and PresidentChoumaly Sayasone and other Party and State leaders of Laos .

Earlier, the Lao guests held talks with a Vietnamese delegation, ledby Sen. Lieut. Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich, Secretary of Party Central Committeeand head of the General Department of Politics under the VietnamPeople’s Army.

The two sides assessed theimplementation of cooperation plans between the two general departmentsof politics since 2011 and discussed orientations for their futurecooperation in various fields.

The same day, General Phung Quang Thanh, Politburo member and Minister of National Defence, received the Lao delegation.-VNA
