PetroVietnam tops list of most profitable firms

Hanoi (VNA)- The Vietnam Report JSC and online newspaper VietNamNet held a ceremony inHanoi on November 6 to announce the Profit500 2019 list.

The list names the500 most profitable enterprises in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Oil and GasGroup (PetroVietnam) topped the list. This is the second year that the grouphas taken the leading position among the top 500 enterprises.

Other firms listedinclude the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam(Vietcombank), Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services Corporation (MobiFone), DatXanh Group, Vingroup and Quang Ngai Sugar JSC.

Profit500 was created toenhance the prestige and brand of businesses, help them approach newopportunities, attract investors and improve their competitiveness.

Vu Dang Vinh, directorgeneral of Vietnam Report, said this year was considered a bright spot ofVietnamese economy with many remarkable achievements such as a promising growthrate of 6.98 percent.

In addition,the consumer confidence index has also improved, he said.

Evaluating the businessand investment environment in the first nine months of this year, manybusinesses at the event agreed reform and innovation effortshave had positive results.

Indicators ofmacroeconomic management of the Government, capital assessment, tax system andtax administration have all been evaluated highly.

Earlier, Vietnam Reportannounced the ranking of the 10 most prestigious retail companies this year.

The companies includedVinCommerce General Trading Services JSC, Aeon Vietnam Co., Ltd., BigC,Southern Airports Services JSC (Sasco) and Lotte Vietnam ShoppingJoint Stock Company./.

Construction of AEON Hai Duong Shopping Centre kicked off

With a total investment of around 1.18 trillion VND (45.6 million USD), the AEON Hai Duong Shopping Centre is designed with a total floor area of approximately 3.6 hectares. Spanning an estimated gross floor area (GFA) of roughly 38,100 sq.m, the shopping centre will feature ample parking space for nearly 600 cars and 1,200 motorcycles.

Hanoi to develop 254-million-USD industrial cluster

Until 2030, Hanoi looks to have 159 industrial clusters covering a total area of 3,204 ha, expand five clusters established between 2017 and 2020 with a total area of about 45 ha, and build 21 new ones covering about 536 ha.
