Hanoi (VNA) – Petrovietnam Drilling and Well Services Corporation (PV Drilling) was honoured with the “Mission: Zero Possible” award by Malaysia’s national oil and gas group Petronas during the 2025 senior leadership engagement with service partners held on November 17.
The event gathered senior Petronas executives along with chief executives from leading oil and gas service providers in Southeast Asia. PV Drilling General Director Nguyen Xuan Cuong represented the corporation at the meeting.
The conference served as an important platform for Petronas and its key service partners to review cooperation outcomes in 2025, highlight contributions to shared success, and reinforce commitments to absolute safety and project efficiency. Participants discussed measures to enhance operational capability, exchanged experience, and assessed emerging trends in risk management across petroleum projects.
Petronas presented the “Mission: Zero Possible” award to PV Drilling in recognition of the outstanding performance of the PV DRILLING I jack-up rig, which contributed significantly to Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB)’s operations during the year. The award underscores PV Drilling’s consistent efforts to ensure effective project execution with uncompromising safety, a top priority in the drilling industry.
PV Drilling has maintained a strong presence in the Malaysian market since 2017, with its four jack-up rigs, namely PV DRILLING I, II, III and VI, continuously engaged in major projects. As of October 2025, the corporation had accumulated more than 4.72 million man-hours, completed 118 wells with a total drilled length of 298,570 metres, and carried out 69 rig moves, making it the second most active drilling contractor in Malaysia after the domestic operator.
The company has achieved multiple milestones in recent years, including awards for best-performing rigs and record-setting long wells in Malaysia. The latest recognition further affirms PV Drilling’s service quality and its solid reputation in the regional drilling market./.
