Quang Ninh province supports tertiary education for Lao students

Since 2012, Quang Ninh has supported tertiary education training for 730 Lao students with a total fund of 159 billion VND (6.03 million USD).

Quang Ninh (VNA) – Secretary of the provincial Party Committee of Quang Ninh province Vu Dai Thang on September 4 hosted a visiting delegation from the Laos – Vietnam Friendship Association led by Minister of Technology and Communications and President of the association Boviengkham Vongdara.

Thang said that Quang Ninh has long contributed to nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. Cooperation has developed well between the northeastern coastal province and three northern Lao provinces, involving infrastructure support, education and training, human resource development, and delegation exchanges. Since 2012, Quang Ninh has supported tertiary education training for 730 Lao students with a total fund of 159 billion VND (6.03 million USD).

Quang Ninh will continue to enhance cooperation and investment with communities in Laos. The province hopes the association will serve as an important bridge in strengthening mutual understanding, trust, and attachment between the two countries' people, while encouraging Lao and Vietnamese localities, businesses, and organisations to expand cooperation, elevating bilateral relations to new heights.

Expressing gratitude for Quang Ninh’s support for Lao communities, especially in the training of Lao students, Boviengkham stressed that this stands as a vivid testament to the special relationship between the two countries.

He affirmed that further efforts will be made to promote the friendly and cooperative ties, ensuring they grow deeper and more effective./.
