Reference exchange rate down 19 VND at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,174 VND/USD on December 27, down 19 VND from the last working day of previous week (December 24).

Hanoi (VNA) – TheState Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,174 VND/USD onDecember 27, down 19 VND from the last working day of previous week (December24).

With the current trading bandof  +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the dayis 23,869 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,479 VND/USD.

The opening-hour rates at commercialbanks increased.

At 8:30 am, Vietcombank listedthe buying rate at 22,690 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,000 VND/USD, bothup 5 VND from the rates at the same time on December 24.

BIDV raised both rates by 10VND, listing the buying rate at 22,730 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,010 VND/USD.

During theweek from December 20-24, the daily exchange rate fluctuated variably but endedthe week up 9 VND./.
