Reference exchange rate down 7 VND on May 12
The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,245 VND per USD on May 12, down 7 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,942 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,547 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at some commercial banks saw a decline.
At 8:35am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,220 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,430 VND/USD, both down 10 VND from May 11.
Meanwhile, the rates listed by BIDV dropped by 20 VND to 23,250 VND/USD (buying), and 23,430 VND/USD (selling).
Techcombank also cut 27 VND from both rates, listing the buying rate at 23,223 VND/USD, and the selling rate at 23,423 VND/USD./.
