The National Committee for Road Safety in coordination with the Red Cross, social forum Otofun and Ford Vietnam organised an event in Hanoi February 8 giving first aid training for taxi drivers and fans of adventure tourism.

Experts from the International Red Cross provided participants with the basic skills necessary to handle common situations such as unconsciousness, fractures and bleeding so that they can give proper first aid to victims of transport accidents.

According to the committee’s Vice Chairman Khuat Viet Hung, the Hanoi even will pave the way for similar training models to be conducted in Hai Phong, Nghe An and Ho Chi Minh City later this year.

The National Committee for Road Safety intends to produce documentaries and promote campaigns to raise awareness of life-saving medical interventions.-VNA
