Russia , Belarus and Kazakhstan are negotiating for a free trade agreement (FTA) with Vietnam to set up a four-party free trade area, according to Viktor Khristenko, President of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC).

Khristenko reported the event to Russian outgoing Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in Moscow on April 20.

The EAEC President said the FTA negotiation with a number of countries, first of all with Vietnam , is one of priorities of EAEC’s external affairs.

He explained that a dynamic economy in Southeast Asia , Vietnam will serve as a gateway for Russia and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan to reach out to the region.-VNA
