Shares fell in the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange on November 1 with the VN-Index closing the session lower at 387.95 points, in what was the fourth day of losses this week.

Both trading volume and value fell 20 percent from the previous day, totaling 46 million shares, worth more than 704.1 billion VND (33.5 million USD).

Military Bank (MBB) remained the most active code by the end of the session with 4.2 million shares changing hands, closing up 3.94 percent at 13,200 VND a share.

The VN30 tracking the top 30 shares on the bourse was down 0.11 percent to stand at 458.06 points.

The HNX-Index on the Hanoi Stock Exchange hit another record low level of 52.66 points, down by 0.68 percent from the previous session.

Sai Gon-Hanoi Bank (SHB), the most active code on a total trade of 5.76 million shares, ended down 3.77 percent at 5,100 VND a share.

Trading was still sluggish with just 21.8 million shares, worth nearly 134 billion VND (6.4 million USD) exchanged./.
