The Saigon Travel Service Company (Saigontourist) has launched acampaign to support Japanese disaster victims to mark the firstanniversary of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that sweptacross the country.
Subsequently, the company willdonate 100,000 VND for every customer who takes a package tour toJapan starting on Mar. 13 for one year, to support the survivors .
This is just one of the many activities the company has organised over the past year to provide assistance to victims.
Immediately after the disaster, Saigontourist called for a financialcontribution from all of its employees to donate to the Japanese RedCross. It also resumed its tours to Japan in May 2011, just two monthsafter the disaster, after beginning a programme that allowed tourists toget involved in the rebuilding of Sandai City.-VNA
