US left-wing peace activist Randy Ross is making a visit toVietnam to study the land and people here, and the enduringconsequences of the American War.
Ross was received byNguyen Thi Binh, former Vice State President and Chairwoman of theVietnam Fund for Peace and Development, in Hanoi on September 27.
Recalling international friends’ assistance toVietnam during the war, Binh highlighted the country’s efforts insettling such issues as unexploded ordnance and Agent Orange/Dioxinvictims.
She said she hopes through this ongoingvisit, Ross and her family will help US youngsters and peace activistsbetter understand Vietnam, promoting mutual understanding, friendshipand cooperation between the two peoples.
Thefact-finding visit, which will run until October 10, will help the USguest write about Vietnam ’s current development achievements andthe consequences of the war, including the impact of Agent Orange/Dioxinon women and children.
