Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VJC) held its annual general meeting on May 30, eyeing further development of domestic services and bigger investment in its fleet for long-term growth.

Positive revenue, expanded international flight network

In 2024, the carrier recorded its highest-ever business performance, with an expanding international network that boosted revenue.

It safely operated 137,500 flights with 25.9 million passengers onboard (excluding Vietjet Thailand), including over 9 million international passengers which saw an 18% year-on-year increase.

Having launched 20 new international and domestic routes, Vietjet’s flight network has increased to 145 routes, including 101 international and 44 domestic ones. Vietjet became the first airline to connect Vietnam with the five largest cities in Australia and also the largest airlines in terms of the number of routes between Vietnam and India, China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.

The airline also announced robust financial results for 2024, according to its audited financial statements. The parent company recorded revenue of over 71.73 trillion VND and a pre-tax profit of over 1.74 trillion VND.

As of the end of 2024, Vietjet's total assets reached nearly 99.3 trillion VND, with a debt-to-equity ratio of 2.03 and a liquidity ratio of 1.58, both of which are considered good in the aviation industry.

At the beginning of 2025, Vietjet marked a significant milestone by launching its first flight from Vietnam to the United States.

To support its development plans for the coming decade, Vietjet has nailed a new deal with Airbus to purchase 20 wide-body A330neo aircraft, increasing its order for wide-body aircraft to 40.

To meet all customer needs, Vietjet offers modern services such as Business Class tickets for long-haul flights operated with wide-body A330 aircraft; duty-free shopping, insurance, currency exchange, and more.

Pioneering digital transformation - Implementing modern technology

Vietjet has taken the lead in implementing biometric applications for check-in through the VneID app at major airports, providing a quick and convenient check-in experience for residents and travelers. Advanced technology is also being rolled out across its operations to optimise costs, contributing to the development of the aviation industry.

Proactively investing in sustainable development

With a sustainable development plan, Vietjet continuously invests in ground operations, technical services, and human resource training. The airline has actively operated ground service at Vietnam’s two largest airports, Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai, further enhancing its aviation service chain. Vietjet also invests in aircraft maintenance facilities (hangars), ensuring proactive maintenance for its modern fleet, including both wide-body and narrow-body aircraft./.
