– The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines said on March 14 that it would coordinate with map supplier InMapz to launch a new airport map feature on its website and mobile application.

Accordingly, customers of Vietnam Airlines will be able to easily access 67 maps at nine domestic airports and 58 international ones.

The move will help Vietnam Airlines become the first airline in Asia to provide the most number of digital airport maps.

The airport maps will have navigation functions, directing passengers to areas such as check-in counters, luggage areas, boarding areas, restaurants, and car parks, etc.

Passenger can use the map by downloading the Vietnam Airlines mobile apps for free on Android and iOS, or by visiting the website www.vietnamairlines.com.

Deputy Director of Vietnam Airlines Le Hong Ha said the application makes finding service areas at airports easier and more convenient than ever.

In the time to come, Vietnam Airlines will continue to invest in technology in order to improve the quality of services both on the ground and in the air, affirming its position as a four-star international airline, towards the five-star standard, he added.

HD Vo, founder and CEO of InMapz, said his firm is honoured to partner with Vietnam Airlines – one of the leading regional airlines – to optimise and integrate the InMapz map platform with mobile phones and beacon-positioning technology.

The addition of 67 digital airport maps is the latest technology improvement of Vietnam Airlines since it upgraded its mobile application in February this year.

With the application, passengers can search for flights quickly, book tickets online easily, conveniently check itineraries, and purchase additional facilities for flights at any time. It also allows passengers to complete check-in procedures and use boarding passes right on the application to save time at the airport.–VNA
