The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on August 15 announced that it will restore direct flights to the imperial capital city of Hue from September 20 when the Phu Bai International Airport is reopened.

The airport, the main air gateway to Hue , closed its doors for runway repairs on March 20.

Vietnam Airlines will launch two daily flights from Hanoi to Hue , and three others from Ho Chi Minh City to the city, both using Airbus 321.

Customers who booked tickets to Da Nang city before August 15 for travel between September 20 and November 20 will be able to change their tickets if they want to stop in Hue.-VNA
