A Vietnam-Argentina trade exchange was held in HoChi Minh City on October 29 with the aim of increasing trade activities and creatingopportunities for the two countries’ businesses.
The event was part of a visit of a businessdelegation from Argentina.
Argentinean Domestic Trade Secretary Guillermo Morenosaid the 150 businesses attending the event are leading producers and exportersin food and beverages, garment and footwear materials, chemistry,pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, machinery, electric appliances, constructionmaterials and services in his country.
Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Planning andInvestment Department Thai Van Re introduced to the potential investors the fieldsthat the city is calling for investment, including finance, banking, trade anddistribution, tourism, health care, education and training, electronics,information technology, and chemistry.
He also provided them with information on preferentialpolicies and measures to support the two countries’ trade and investmentcooperation.
Vietnam is Argentina's47th exporter.
Two-way trade between Argentinaand Vietnamhit a record 971.7 million USD last year, a year-on-year rise of 17 percent.The figure was 168 million USD in the first three months of the year, ayear-on-year rise of 12.6 percent.
Last year, Vietnam exported to Argentina footwear,rubber and rubber products, garment and textile products, machines andmechanical and electronic equipments while importing soybeans, animal fat andplant oil, cereals and fuels from the Latin American country.-VNA
