Hanoi (VNA) – The 15th Vietnam International Exhibition on Automobile & Transportation and Supporting Industry (Vietnam Autoexpo 2018) opened in Hanoi on June 6.

Coving in an area of 10,000 square metres with 450 booths, the event introduces new products and services in automobile, motorbike and supporting industry in Vietnam.

Along with Vietnamese products by the Vietnam Engine and Agriculture Machinery Corporation, the four-day exhibition highlights brands from Russia, the Republic of Korea and China such as Gaz Group Faw Group, HongYan Truck and KC Motors, along with big names such as Ducati, Harley, Davidson, Triumph, Royal Enfield and Kawasak.

At the same time, the exhibition gives much space to feature new products in support industry, spare parts, accessories, and automobile and motorbike maintenance products from various companies including Dunlop, CNC Hanoi, Daichi, Yangmin, Vietmap, Fast Auto and Nam Vu.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that the Vietnam AutoExpo 2018 is significant to local businesses to meet with their foreign firms to discuss investment opportunities and expand their markets.

Automobile has been built into a key industry in Vietnam to meet domestic demands on trucks, passenger cars and specialised cars, he said, adding that the Government has paid due attention to branch out support industry with a line-up of favourable policies.

Furthermore, Vietnam is striving to become a supplier of high value spare parts and details in the global automobile production chain.

With such conditions, Vietnamese automobile industry and support industry have huge potential for businesses to land investment, he noticed.

Within the annual event’s framework, a thematic conference will be held to discuss the development of support industry and the connection of demand and supply sources for the production and assembling of commercial and special-use automobiles in Vietnam.

This year, the event is expected to attract 50,000 visitors.

Last year, the exhibition drew 120 enterprises and welcomed about 40,000 visitors.-VNA
