Vietnam reports 7,646 new COVID-19 cases on Nov. 7

An additional 7,646 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Vietnam on November 7, bringing the nationwide tally to 968,684.

Hanoi (VNA) - An additional 7,646 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Vietnam onNovember 7, bringing the nationwide tally to 968,684.

Afurther 61 deaths were also announced on the day.

Outof the new cases, 15 were imported and quarantined upon arrival.

Comparedto the previous day, the number of daily cases has increased nationally by 151.

HoChi Minh City tops the list with 1,009 new infections, followed by Dong Nai provincewith 997, and Binh Duong province with 826.

Thecapital city of Hanoi logged 72 new cases.

Amongthe new COVID-19-related deaths, 31 were in HCM City. The other fatalities wererecorded in Bac Lieu (7), Binh Duong (5), An Giang (5), Tien Giang (4), DongNai (2), Kien Giang (2), Dak Nong (1), Binh Thuan (1), Can Tho (1), Quang Ngai(1), and Soc Trang (1).

Atotal of 1,301 recoveries were reported on November 7, taking the total numberof patients given the all-clear to 840,402.

Thereare currently 3,280 people being treated in intensive care units.

Morethan 89.6 million vaccine doses have been administered to date, with justover 28.7 million people having received two doses./.

Health sector targets free hospital fee for all

The total value of medical expenses not covered by the health insurance fund is estimated at around 24.8 trillion VND (942 million USD) per year. Health insurance contributions remain low, at 4.5% of the salary or reference base used for calculation.
