Vietnam-RoK sports, cultural festival opens

The RoK-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Association in Yongin city of Gyeonggi province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) held the seventh RoK-Vietnam sports and cultural exchange festival on May 26.

Attending the festival were Vietnamese Ambassador tothe RoK Tran Trong Toan, Yongin city Mayor Kim Hak-gyu, RoK Member ofParliament Ee U-hyun and Vice Chairman of the RoK-Vietnam Friendship andCooperation Association Lee Sang-shin.

Addressingthe opening ceremony, Ambassador Toan said that the annual event createda friendly environment for participants. He expressed hope that theassociation will have more activities to contribute to strengtheningcooperation and friendship between the two countries’ people.

Mayor Kim Hak-gyu highly valued the activities of the RoK-VietnamFriendship and Cooperation Association in past years, adding that theevent is very meaningful in the series of activities to mark the 20 thanniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties.

Within the framework of the festival, Ambassador Tran Trong Toan andthe RoK-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Association also offeredpresents to Vietnam-RoK multicultural families.-VNA

Binh Duong to rebuild substandard houses by September 2

Vietnamese workers to enjoy five-day Reunification and Labour Day holiday

The Government is recommending public employers arrange their working schedules to swap out working on Saturday, April 26, for the day off on May 2.In early April, workers in Vietnam will also enjoy a day off for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the third lunar month), which falls on April 7 (Monday).
