Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam’s athletes aim to win 40 – 50 gold medals and rank among the top four nations at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand next year, according to the Sports Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
As scheduled, Vietnam will send 184 members, including 139 athletes, 27 coaches, and 17 officials, to the event.
Vietnam’s team will compete in 11 sports – athletics, swimming, weightlifting, badminton, table tennis, chess, judo, boccia, archery, tennis, and fencing.
The 2025 ASEAN Para Games will take place in Nakhon Ratchasima from January 15 to 27, 2026, featuring 19 sports with 536 categories. Four sports - athletics, swimming, weightlifting, and cycling - will be conducted under the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) supervision standards.
The official competitions will take place from January 20 to 25, 2026. /.
Thailand gears up to host 33rd SEA Games and 13th ASEAN Para Games
The 33rd SEA Games will take place from December 9 to 20, 2025, across Bangkok, Chon Buri, and Songkhla, while the 13th ASEAN Para Games will be held from January 20 to 26, 2026, in Nakhon Ratchasima.
