Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia presents gifts to families with meritorious service ahead of Tet

The Party and the State have always paid great attention to and provided substantial support for the Vietnamese-origin community in Cambodia, with the aim of helping them stabilise their lives, gradually integrate into the host society and contribute to the host country while serving as bridges to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries' people.

Phnom Penh (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia on February 10 held a programme to present Lunar New Year (Tet) gifts to families with meritorious service in the country.

The activity reflected solidarity and gratitude towards families of Vietnamese origin who have rendered services to the Vietnamese revolution and made significant contributions to Vietnam–Cambodia friendship on the threshold of the Lunar New Year 2026.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu expressed appreciation for such families, stressing that the programme provided an opportunity to meet, exchange views and honour the noble contributions of families and overseas Vietnamese who have consistently contributed to the cause of national liberation and construction of Vietnam.

He noted that activities paying tribute to those with meritorious service are a regular task of the Party and the State.

The diplomat affirmed that the Party and the State have always paid great attention to and provided substantial support for the Vietnamese-origin community in Cambodia, with the aim of helping them stabilise their lives, gradually integrate into the host society and contribute to the host country while serving as bridges to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries' people.

He also expressed his hope that they would continue to preserve and promote the fine traditions and noble values of the Vietnamese nation, educate younger generations and the Vietnamese-origin community in Cambodia, and make positive contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and bilateral relations in the time ahead.

On this occasion, the ambassador also updated the community on the sound relations between Vietnam and Cambodia, highlighting that the recent state visit to Cambodia on February 6 by Party General Secretary To Lam, along with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, is expected to be an important milestone elevating bilateral relations to a new height.

Within the framework of the programme, the ambassador presented Tet gifts to representatives of 10 families with meritorious service./.
