Vietnamese workers have chance to develop career in Germany

Hanoi (VNA) – Skilled workers with state-recognised vocational qualification in the fields of information technology, electrical/electronic engineering, culinary or restaurant and hotel, will have the opportunity to work in Germany under the programme “Hand in Hand for International Talents”.

The programme was signed between the Centre of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Laboure, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam on November 10. The agreement on the plan is a not-for-profit, aiming to send Vietnamese labourers with at least two years of experience to Germany.

Accordingly, Vietnamese participants will receive free German-language training course until they reach B1 level and visa application. Each potential staff will receive support to find employment with salaries of up to 3,500 EUR (3,650 USD), enjoy the same welfare as German workers, and have the chance to work in Germany.

Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan expressed his belief that through the piloted “Hand in Hand for International Talents”, both sides will evaluate the plan, outline a rational recruitment procedures to ensure that Vietnamese skilled workers get the chance to work in Germany.

“The programme has an important role in creating favourable conditions for Vietnam and Germany to expand their cooperation in skilled worker training, and recognise certificates granted by each nation”, Hoan affirmed.

Alexander Wilhelm, Director of the international relations bureau under the Federal Employment Agency, said Germany is in need of skilled workers and is putting forth digitalisation and working towards new climate targets.

“The German side appreciates that Vietnamese workers are hardworking and industrious and are highly appreciated by businesses,” he added. “This cooperation brings into play the capabilities and strengths and brings practical benefits to the two sides.", he said.

Meanhile, Marko Walde, Chief Representative of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam expressed his hope that the programme will create more opportunities for Vietnamese workers to obtain top jobs with stable income and professional working environment in Germany.

Since 2015, the Centre of Overseas Labour has joined hands with Vivantes company to send nearly 1,000 nurses to Germany to study and work there, making contributions to the human resources cooperation between the two nations./.
