The event, organised by the city’s centre for supportingforeign workers and the labour management office under the RoK’s EmploymentPermit System (EPS), attracted a large number of Vietnamese workers who also hadtheir questions answered.
The meetingwas part of a series of activities to give legal advice and encourage workers toreturn to Vietnam when their contracts expire, in line with regulations soas to enhance labour management and assist them during their stay in the RoK.
Talking to the Vietnam News Agency, Jin Jong-sang,Director of the Changwon centre for supporting foreign workers, said his centreis providing assistance for all foreign workers in different aspects.
He held that as most Vietnamese work industriously andsincerely, they have won local employers’ trust. However, illegal labour isstill a problem needing to be addressed.
Up to now, Vietnam has sent over 110,000 workers to the RoK under the EPS programme, with average monthlyincome of 1,800 USD. About 30,000 are working under the EPS among the 40,000Vietnamese workers in the RoK at present, according to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs./.
