A ccording to Vietnam’s embassy in Mexico, i n the first 10months of this year, Vietnam’s exports to the 117-million-peoplemarket brought home over 985 million USD - the majority of the 1.057billion USD of two-way trade.
In the reviewedperiod, Vietnam’s four main exports to the Latin American countryincluded footwear, seafood, coffee, and garment and textiles.
However, the embassy’s Commercial Counsellor Hoang Tuan Vietexpressed concern for the challenges that will follow the signing of theTrans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement, which Vietnam and Mexicoare parties in the negotiations.
Vietnamesegoods will face stiff competition against the host country’s dominantitems, including garment and textiles, pork, beef, poultry and fruit,Viet said.
Australia, Brunei, Chile, the US,Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Canada are theother nine countries taking part in TPP Agreement negotiations.-VNA
