Speaking at theevent, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh affirmed that the NationalDay is an important milestone of the country. The Vietnamese people have showntheir solidarity, bravery and steadfastness and overcome a range of difficultiesand challenges to obtain huge achievements in safeguarding national independenceand freedom as well as in national construction and development.
The ambassadoralso expressed his gratitude to the Russian people for their great andeffective support and assistance to Vietnam during its struggle for national independenceand post-war construction process.
For his part, SpecialRepresentative of Russian President on International Cultural Cooperation MikhailShvydkoy said he is impressed by Vietnam’s dynamic development over the past 30years.
Vietnam’s electionas non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the2020-2021 tenure is solid proof of the country’s efforts, he said.
Shvydkoy voicedhis delight at the warm relations between leaders of the two countries andnoted that the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Year and the Russia-Vietnam FriendshipYear will create a new impulse for the bilateral ties in all fields, rangingfrom military technology to and cultural exchange.-VNA
