Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese tennis player Nguyen Van Phuong was ousted from the third round of the Copa Del Café Junior Tennis Tournament in Costa Rica on January 17.

Phuong, junior world No 193, lost to Zynk Tyler of the US, who is junior world No 83 and No 6 seed, 3-6, 6-1, 2-6 in the men’s singles category.

Earlier, 16-year-old Phuong from Binh Duong Sebastian Welch of Chile 6-3, 6-3 in the second round and triumphed over Tomas Kopczynski of the US in the first round.

In the men’s doubles, Phuong and Roi Ginat of Israel lost to the duo Arthur Cazaux and Allan Deschamps of France 5-7, 1-6 in the first round.
