Hanoi (VNA) – The Offshore Construction Division of the Vietnam – Russia joint venture Vietsovpetro successfully lifted and installed the topside of the BK-24 offshore production platform at the Bach Ho oil field – Block 09.1 on September 14.
Earlier, on September 7, 2025, the enterprise had completed acceptance testing and launched the BK-24 topside, meeting all design and quality standards and qualifying for subsequent installation phases.
The BK-24 topside weighs about 800 tonnes and was installed using the Hoang Sa crane vessel, with more than 130 engineers and workers operating in three continuous shifts at sea.
The BK-24 wellhead platform is an unmanned lightweight platform, designed, fabricated, and installed by Vietsovpetro, located at the Bach Ho field on Vietnam’s continental shelf.
BK-24 is built adjacent to the existing BK-20 platform, featuring six production wells, auxiliary systems, a connecting bridge, and a pipeline network linking BK-24 to BK-20. Modification of equipment on BK-20 was also carried out to ensure the smooth reception and processing of oil and gas from the new platform./.
