A new project launched on July 4 will get both residents and visitors to record information and impressions of famous and not-so-famous destinations as well as culture and cuisine of Vietnam in order to make them more popular.

An initiative of Unilever Vietnam 's Clear shampoo brand, the project is backed by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

The project will have a website, www.mykoolvietnam.vn, as its centerpiece and will also release an E-tourism map as well as a book in the near future.

Le Van Hung, acting director of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's branch office in Ho Chi Minh City , said that to make Vietnam 's tourism sector a key economic sector in the country, proactive participation and interest is needed from society as a whole, especially young people.
This project will create opportunities for the youth to become "tour guides" and explore the country through the Kool Vietnam application, helping them check in and access or post information about destinations, food, shopping and entertainment spots quickly and easily.
The "checked-in" information will be collected and used in making an e-tourism map.

The project will be carried out over the three summer months this year, and continued during the same period in the years to come.-VNA
