- Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, PermanentRepresentative of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), has met UNSecretary-General Antonio Guterres and handed over a letter from Prime MinisterPham Minh Chinh to him, responding to his proposal on establishing Vietnam-UNcooperation in climate change response, and sharing Vietnam's efforts torealise commitments at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference.
In hisletter, PM Chinh also thanked the UN as well as the Secretary-General himselffor support to Vietnam, including the establishment of the partnership with theGroup of Seven (G7) on energy transition. Read full story
– National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended theopening of the fourth session of the People’s Council of Phu Tho province onJuly 13, lauding the efforts of the northern midland locality in all fields,especially COVID-19 control and socio-economic recovery and development.
He noted that Phu Tho has enjoyed good gross regional domestic product (GRDP)growth at 6.28 percent in 2021 and 7.8 percent in 2022, higher than thecountry’s average. Read full story
- The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) OnlineSale Day 2022 is scheduled to be held from August 8 -10 to mark ASEAN’s 55thfounding anniversary, according to the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital EconomyAgency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. – The Vietnamese Ministry of Construction and the LaoMinistry of Public Works and Transport signed a memorandum of understanding(MoU) on construction in Hanoi on July 13.

– Vietnam is eyeing great opportunities in exporting aquaticproducts to the Japanese market thanks to the high level of openness of the Comprehensiveand Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), according toinsiders.
Nguyen Manh Dong, Third Secretary of the Vietnam Trade Officein Japan, said that apart from the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement(VJEPA), the two countries have also joined other trade deals such as the CPTPPand the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), which brings morechances for Vietnamese aquatic products in this market. – Automaker VinFast on July 13 announced that it has signedagreements with Credit Suisse (Singapore) Ltd and Citigroup Global Markets Inc.to raise at least 4 billion USD to develop an electric vehicle factory in NorthCarolina, the US.
