-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived in Dalian city, China’s Liaoning province on June 24 for the 15th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting of the New Champions and working sessions in the country from June 24 to 27.

The PM was met at the airport by Liaoning Vice Governor Jin Guowei, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo, Vice Mayor of Dalian Leng Xuefeng, and Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai.Read full story

-The National Assembly (NA) on June 24 approved the revised Law on the Organisation of People's Courts, with 94.25% of the participating deputies voting in favour.

The freshly passed law consists of nine chapters and 152 articles, introducing new policies and regulations on the organisation and operation of the courts, while also pertaining to various agencies such as investigation, procuracy, and civil judgment enforcement agencies. It also interacts with multiple procedural laws.Read full story

-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked price management to be enhanced in the coming time, under an official dispatch recently sent to ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and the chairpersons of the Peoples’ Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities.

Ministries and sectors need to keep a close watch on the market developments, and roll out measures to ensure domestic supply-demand balance and stabilise prices, given the pressure from the implementation of the market roadmap for State-managed products which were delayed over the past time, rising costs of imported materials and sea shipping, and wage reform.Read full story

- Vietnam's search teams located and collected the remains of 184 martyrs in Laos in the 2023-2024 dry season, with nine identified by name and hometown, heard a meeting between special task forces of the Vietnamese and Lao governments held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 24.

The meeting, the 29th of its kind, discussed the search, collection, and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos during wartime.Read full story

-The solidarity and close relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia have become a rule and factor ensuring the sustainable development of each country, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang has said.

Talking to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Cambodia's national news agency Agence Kampuchea Press (AKP) on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties (June 24, 1967 - 2024), Tang perceived that the two countries have obtained numerous outstanding cooperation achievements in recent years. -Vietnam has made a lot of efforts in public financial management reform over the past 10 years and enjoyed good and relatively comprehensive progress, Deputy Finance Minister Bui Van Khang affirmed at the launch of the Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) report on June 24.

The PEFA programme provides a framework for assessing and reporting on the strengths and weaknesses of public financial management (PFM) using quantitative indicators to measure performance. It identifies 94 characteristics (dimensions) across 31 key components of public financial management (indicators) in seven broad areas of activity (pillars).Read full story

-The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) recently added Cat Tien National Park in southern Vietnam to its Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas, making it the 72nd in the world and the second in Vietnam to achieve the distinction.

The park registered for the Green List in September 2018, with its application developed since January 2022.Read full story/.

Vietnam, China intensify experience sharing in diplomatic affairs

Vietnam, US hold virtual ministerial talks on reciprocal trade

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed the proposals put forward by the US side and reiterated Vietnam’s request for consideration of key areas of interest, including reciprocal tariff policies and access for Vietnamese key export products to the US market.

Vietnam to hold first-ever sea parade to mark National Day
